One must wonder what the are troops thinking. ? One must ponder, how the military maintains their morale. We sit back in our comfortable homes nightly viewing the untimely deaths of our service members. The Generals meet with the Commander in Chief (COC), they provide the COC with their assessments of what is actually going on, not the media's interpretation, or the politicians thoughts, but on what is happening to those they are entrusted to protect.
The end result is talk and more talk, yet each day another service member is carried home in their shinny flag draped casket. As with any occupation, employees must know they have the support of their CEO and that the direction he/she is being provided will lead to success. Otherwise, their objectives become blurred and without purpose, thus they are but sailors on a rudderless ship.
Simply stated, they will continue to die for the man or woman beside them while the America's political leadership continues to talk and rest comfortably under the safety provided by our troops. Do you really believe that most politicians have a true understanding of war and the human sacrifice that it entails? Sadly, our citizens in uniform will continue their mission and the decision makers will continue to vacillate on how to react to this war. Soldiers will do what is asked of them, often only thinking of each other. They must be thinking, please make a decision provide us with direction or bring us home. It is time the President and all other politicians give or finest the direction they need. Bring them home of commit to victory.
